This carriage barn, built by the descendants of Judge Theodorus Van Wyck circa 1845, originally stood on the south side of Rte. 52 across today’s East Fishkill Soccer Complex. The original house was built in 1740 by Judge Van Wyck on land purchased from Katherina Brett. The home was rented and occupied by John Jay and his family during the American Revolution from 1776-1781. In 1984 the home as demolished by IBM, At that time IBM paid for the barn to be dismantled, moved, and rebuilt on this site. The barn now serves to house and display a collection of horse drawn carriages, sleighs, and a farm wagon. The barn also contains a collection of tools and equipment, donated by several families from East Fishkill.
